Snake shock No.3
Date published: 25 August 2015
A TERRIFIED woman called firefighters after discovering a snake lurking behind her fridge.
Fire crews were greeted by a distressed woman waving towards her property - but not to smoke or a fire. When they went inside they found a corn snake behind the fridge.
Watch manager Paul Anderson said: “In 25 years this is the first time I’ve been called out to something like this. We can identify chemicals and cut people from cars but we don’t get trained to deal with snakes.”
On Monday we reported how two snakes were found slithering around Oldham on Friday; one under a car bonnet in Failsworth, the other in Clarksfield. Both, like this one, were believed to be escaped pets.
