REMEMBERED: Glodwick Cricket Club (in green) played members of the Christie Allsorts fundraising group to honour Bilal.
THE Glodwick community took to the crease at the weekend in a charity cricket tournament to honour a former player.
The tournament at Glodwick Cricket Club was in memory of Bilal Malik, who lost his fight against cancer at Christie’s in February.
Bilal came to Oldham as an 11 year old to build a new life with his extended family, and was applying to study architecture when he fell ill last August.
He joined the Glodwick club in 2007 and was a popular presence. Proceeds from the tournament will go to the Christie Allsorts fundraising group.
