Hannah Pearson and Daniel Prince: free will for a donation
Oldhamers will have the chance to make or update their will free this month - as part of The Christie’s “Make a Will” Week, in return for a donation to the charity.
The Christie is encouraging people to make a will, with the support of 50 law firms from across the region, including Pearson Solicitors in the Oldham area.
During the week, from September 14-18, participating solicitors will help people to make or update a will free - which can cost up to £150 even for a basic will.
Last year alone, The Christie received nearly £5million from donors who left a gift in their will.
Daniel Prince, Partner at Pearson Solicitors and Financial Advisers LLP, said: “Pearson Solicitors are pleased to be helping for the second year running with Make a Will Week - it’s an ideal way our solicitors can give something back to the community and help someone else at the same time.”
See a list of participating solicitors at www.christiewillweek.org.
The suggested minimum donation is £90 for a basic single will, £135 for a pair of basic “mirror wills” (for couples), or £40 to update an existing will.
