RECORD breakers . . . some of the pupils celebrating their success
Pupils at Hathershaw College are record breakers.
They have made it into the Guinness Book of World Records for having most people doing sit-ups simultaneously for a minute.
The event was organised by PE staff in May to celebrate the Bellfield Avenue School’s 60th anniversary.
Officials have now confirmed that with 503 youngsters taking part, they smashed the previous record of 414, set in North Carolina, USA, by 89 people.
