MORE than 90 houses could be built on the controversial Foxdenton site before a planned link road has been built.
Developers of the £100m plan, which will see 210 new homes and a business park created off Foxdenton Lane, asked for permisson to build some of the houses before the access road.
Up to 98 homes could be built before traffic measures are necessary but it is thought the road wil be built after around 25.
The overall plan is opposed by many local residents who fear the impact of more traffic and the loss of green space.
Christina Gater, of the Foxdenton and District Protection Group, told the committee last night: “Councillors appear determined to push this through despite the negative impact to the area.”
But the amendment was passed by all members of the committee but one, who abstained.
