A NEW House of Commons select committee is to visit Oldham to consult on its plans for future inquiries.
Members of the Women and Equalities Committee will meet local organisations and members of the public in Oldham, Manchester and Birmingham tomorrow and Friday to hear about day-to-day experiences of equality issues.
The committee was appointed by the House of Commons in June to examine the expenditure, administration and policy of the Government Equalities Office.
It oversees the Minister for Women and Equalities and the GEO’s performance on equality issues, gender, age, race, religion, sexual orientation, maternity, disability and other issues.
