Plan to create education and conference venue
Date published: 09 October 2015
PLANS to transform a former call centre into a multifunctional building for academic and religious learning and social gathering have been submitted to the council.
The proposals for Werneth House, Manchester Road, were submitted by UK Islamic Mission Development and Welfare Ltd (UKIM) and will be discussed at next Wednesday’s planning committee meeting.
The proposals include turning the ground floor into an educational centre with classrooms, starter offices for rent and a prayer room. The first floor will be a multipurpose suite to hold conferences, exhibitions and training events.
The plans were originally approved in 2011, but permission lapsed.
