Thomas Whybrow - 100 yesterday
THOMAS Whybrow is looking ecstatic — and with good reason.
The former mill worker celebrated his 100th birthday yesterday at Edgehill Residential Home in Royton, where he has lived for just over a year.
Tom marked the milestone event with a party at the home, inviting along his friends and family members.
Tom and his wife Edith married in 1943 and had a son and a daughter. Only his son Christopher (64) now remains and he pays regular visits to his father at the home.
Tom was given a birthday bonus when children from Rushcroft Primary School, who knew him from his previous home in Shaw, presented him with a card and a planter.
