Private homes deal plan for Primrose Bank
Date published: 16 October 2015
OLDHAM Council is to consider proposals to help the regeneration of Primrose Bank.
A report on Monday will outline plans to develop 17 homes on a plot next to the Primrose Bank community centre. The council is looking to step in after a develop relinquished its right to build houses for private sale.
The new houses have attracted considerable local interest. Many potential buyers have already applied directly to the council with a view to buying the properties “off plan”.
As part of the plans the council is in talks with Keepmoat Homes over a development agreement which would see the homes built for private sale.
The regeneration of Primrose Bank is part of the £113m Gateways to Oldham scheme, which has seen more than 700 homes built or refurbished at four sites across the borough.
