Former Corrie actress Judy Holt and her co-star Ryan Clayton are performing in “The Box of Tricks” at Oldham Library and The Swan, Dobcross
A FORMER “Coronation Street” and “Scott and Bailey” actress is heading to Oldham for two performances of an award-winning play.
Judy Holt, who played Leslie Kershaw in the soap until 2012 and pathologist “Scary” Mary Jackson in the ITV police drama, is starring in “The Box of Tricks” at Oldham Library and the Swan, Dobcross.
The play — nominated for the audience award at last year’s Manchester’s 24:7 Theatre Festival, and the Vicky Allen Memorial Award — is at Oldham Library tomorrow and the Swan on November 25.
Written by Ric Brady and Stephen M Hornby of Manchester-based Pagelight Productions, it explores the intense relationship between two brothers, Mike and Sam, played by actors Samuel Thompson and Ryan Clayton. Judy plays their aunt.
Ric, co-writer and producer, said: “The play resonated with audiences at the 24:7 Theatre Festival, with many telling me afterwards they felt they had to give their brother or sister a ring. I cannot wait to bring this endearing play to audiences in other towns and cities.”
