AN Oldham chef will do battle with the cream of the country’s curry industry this week for the title of UK King of Spice.
Gulam Hussain of the Indian Ocean restaurant in Featherstall Road North, is a finalist in the 2015 Curry Chef Awards organised by the Bangladesh Caterers’ Association. Thirty chefs from across the UK will create a signature dish in 45 minutes.
“To be selected as one of the finalists is a huge honour,” said Gulam. “I will be competing against some of the finest chefs in our industry. I’m really looking forward to showing them what I can do.”
