STATE OF THE ART fitness facilities and an Olympic legacy pool have won the seal of approval from two Oldham swimming stars.
England Commonwealth Games swimmers Jessica Lloyd, from Diggle, and local girl Jessica Fullalove from Royton, joined Oldham Council Leader Jim McMahon as they cut the ribbon at the new £8 million Royton Leisure Centre.
The Byron Street centre, which opened in September, features a six-lane, 25-metre swimming pool and a learner pool with spectator seating, an 80-station fitness gym and two exercise/dance studios.
The pool is the same design as one of the London 2012 Olympic training pools, while the learner pool can be used for a variety of activities including lessons and aqua fit.
