THRILLED fiction fans enjoyed a literary audience with author Louis de Bernieres at Millgate Arts Centre.
Louis, who wrote global best-seller “Captain Corelli’s Mandolin” was invited to the Delph theatre as part of a fundraising event.
He talked about his new book “The Dust that Falls from Dreams” as well as his life as a writer, and took part in a question-and-answer session. Later he signed copies of his books.
The fundraiser, part of Oldham Council Library Service’s Bookmark Weekend, raised £300 towards the running of Delph Library which is co-staffed by Oldham Library service staff and Delph volunteers.
The service’s next author event is with Melvyn Bragg on November 10 at the Grange theatre on Rochdale Road.
