BELLY might still be wearing a diamond-studded collar
AN Oldham woman is heartbroken after her beloved pet Chihuahua was apparently stolen in broad daylight.
Four-year-old Nelly escaped from her owner’s garden in Westfield Street, Chadderton, at about 2pm on Wednesday. Owner Anne-Marie Diallo thinks Nelly had been gone no more than five minutes before she realised and went searching for her.
An hour later Mrs Diallo was told a woman in her fifties with blonde hair and glasses had picked up Nelly outside Burnley Brow School, Victoria Street, and had driven off with her in a dark blue car.
Mr Diallo said: “We presumed at first the woman thought she was missing and took her to help return her, but we have contacted police, the dog warden, everywhere and no one has been in touch to say they have found her. This really only leaves one solution, she must have been stolen.”
Nelly is micro-chipped and police are aware of the situation.
Mrs Diallo added: “I’m heartbroken. She’s with me all the time. I miss her dearly and just want her home.”
Anyone with information should contact Mrs Diallo on 07906 618 562 or Oldham police on 0161-856 9077.
