Carers get ‘good’ rating

AN Oldham care company has been praised for its services following a Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection.
Caremark Oldham, which provides care to people in their own home or in the community, was rated as good following the inspection in August.
Inspectors praised the company, based at Steven House, Lees, for providing caring, effective and responsive services to the 168 people on its books.
Their report said: “People who used the service spoke positively about the attitude and approach of carers. We observed staff to be kind, caring and thoughtful in their interactions with people.”
The inspection found that service users felt safe, with arrangements in place to help safeguard people from abuse.
However the CQC said the system for managing medicines required improvement to ensure people always received their medications as prescribed, after they noticed gaps in administration records.
