Latics fan collapses at match

A LATICS fan was rushed to hospital after suffering a suspected heart attack in the away stand while watching his team play Chesterfield on Saturday.
The man fell ill during the first half of the game and was given CPR by Chesterfield staff, police and a fellow fan, a trained ambulance technician, in the stand.
He was transferred to an ambulance and taken to a hospital close to the Proact Stadium in the Derbyshire town, where he was placed in an induced coma. No other details have been released about his condition.
The game continued with Oldham Athletic going on to win 2-1.
Oldham Athletic said: “Our thoughts are with the Oldham Athletic fan taken ill.
“Thank you to the supporters and Chesterfield FC safety staff whose actions have a made a huge difference.”
