BY-ELECTION candidates Jim McMahon and John Bickley put their differences aside and shared a handshake at the football at the weekend.
Labour’s Mr McMahon and UKIP’s Mr Bickley both attended Oldham Athletic’s clash with Barnsley on Saturday hoping to win over the town’s football fans. Come December 3, both candidates will be hoping to fair better than Latics who lost 2-1 through a late goal from the visitors.
Both men have been far from complimentary about each other in recent stories in the Evening Chronicle but shook hands when they bumped into each other outside SportsDirect.Com Park after the game.
