Governors back Bishop of Salford
Date published: 27 June 2008
THE governors of the two Catholic high schools have issued a joint statement backing the Bishop of Salford’s proposals to merge them.
It follows the latest meeting between the head teachers and governing bodies to plan the smooth transition into the new school.
Salford Diocese is currently consulting parents on the proposals and the statement reads: “We wish to make it clear that, throughout this process, head teachers and governors have been, and will continue to be, fully supportive of the Bishop of Salford, the Rt Rev Terence Brain’s, plans for the new school to be concluded following the latest round of consultations.
“Everybody concerned will ensure that the wonderful opportunity presented by Building Schools for the Future will result in excellent facilities to provide first-class education for the Catholic population and the town of Oldham.”
