Light up a Life and remember loved ones
Date published: 30 November 2015
THE grounds of Dr Kershaw’s hospice will be beautifully illuminated as the hospice launches its “Light up a Life” appeal.
The annual event gives Oldhamers the opportunity to remember loved ones by sponsoring a light in the Royton hospice’s gardens.
Dr Kershaw’s has joined the Chronicle for this year’s appeal and people will have the chance to see their loved ones names and who they are remembered by in the newspaper this week.
The campaign is also being supported by Anne Thornton, who praised the hospice for caring for her husband Bob before his death in August this year.
Anne, from Chadderton, said: “Nothing was ever too much trouble for any of the staff or volunteers at the hospice and that support has continued since Bob’s death.”
The lights will be officially illuminated during a special service at the Turf Lane hospice at 7pm on December 6. The lights will remain lit between 3pm-11pm during epiphany.
For more information or to sponsor a light visit www.drker shawshospice.org.uk/light-up-a-life or call 0161 624 9984.
People can also sponsor a light by visiting Dr Kershaw’s Hospice, Turf Lane, or one of its charity shops in Royton, Oldham, Lees, or Shaw.
