HEALTH staff in a specialist team treating head and neck cancers have gained the Patients’ Choice award at the Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust’s annual awards.
The team, led by Mr Andrew Baldwin, consultant oral and maxillofacial/head and neck surgeon, treats patients across North Manchester, Oldham, Bury and Rochdale and is based at North Manchester General Hospital.
Mr Baldwin was praised by a patient for his great leadership in bringing his team together and providing outstanding care not only to the patient but also to her family.
Mr Baldwin said: “This is a real honour for the whole team. It was made even more special by being successful in the Pennine Patients’ Choice Award, which is based on nominations by the patients themselves.”
