Meeting segregation claims rubbished

THE Labour party has denied claims by UKIP that people at one of its campaign meetings were segregated by gender.
At a public campaign meeting in Oldham on Sunday night, Labour candidate Jim McMahon and several Labour MPs spoke and pictures were uploaded to social media.
UKIP candidate John Bickley accused Labour of segregating the attendees by gender, but Labour retorted that the allegation was “absolutely untrue”.
Mr Bickley said: “Is this really Labour’s modern Britain? Where a political event is segregated by gender? This was not a religious meeting where cultural traditions must be respected.”
A Labour spokesman said: “The accusation of gender segregation is absolutely untrue.”
