LOCAL domestic abuse support services have been given almost half a million pounds.
Police crime commissioner Tony Lloyd awarded the amount to Oldham Council and nine others in Greater Manchester to work together to improve support for victims.
The announcement followed 16 days of activism in an international campaign against domestic violence and abuse, which began in November and ends today, Human Rights Day.
This funding extends the £2 million awarded to Greater Manchester by the Home Office’s Police Innovation Fund earlier this year.
