Churches light up for Christingle services
Date published: 11 December 2015
TWO churches in Oldham are helping bring light to the lives of some of the UK’s most vulnerable children this Christmas with hosting Christingle events.
St Anne’s, in Stockport Road, Lydgate, and St Thomas, in Glebe Lane, Moorside, are among eight churches across Greater Manchester holding events in aid of the Children’s Society.
Money raised will go towards helping the children the charity works with, including victims of sexual exploitation.
Christingle services play a large role in supporting The Children’s Society’s work and this year, the charity is aiming to raise £1.4 million.
St Anne’s holds its event on Sunday at 10.30am. St Thomas holds its event on Saturday, December 19, at 6pm.
