BAD weather once again put a dampener on Christmas festivities in the borough this weekend.

Failsworth Christmas lights switch-on at Higher Memorial Park was cancelled on Saturday after the Met Office issued a yellow weather warning.

Two weeks ago, adverse weather also meant the Hollinwood Christmas lights, at Oasis Academy, were switched on automatically as the outdoor events had to be cancelled.
