Cynthia Wilson: knows how to relax
AFTER a year of charity work this Age UK volunteer clearly needed a rest! And the fact she was in a busy Oldham street was neither here nor there for Cynthia Wilson, from Springhead, she was determined to put her feet up and relax.
Cynthia decided to make a laidback purchase from Age UK’s Vintage Shop while she was waiting for her husband to pick her up from a Christmas party. Her friend and fellow volunteer at the Age UK Lees shop, Susan Bunn, even pushed her down the street in it - to the amusement of shoppers and passers-by.
“We had been enjoying our annual Christmas lunch for volunteers,” said Susan. “We dropped in to the Age UK Vintage shop and she took a liking to this lovely chair.
“We hoisted it to the corner to wait for Cynthia’s husband Michael, so Cynthia took a rest. She got some odd looks and Michael’s face was a picture when he picked us up.”
