Cyclist Rik is an inspiration

DOUBLE Paralympian silver medallist Rik Waddon visited Radclyffe School to inspire year eight pupils.
The Chorley-based cyclist, who has cerebral palsy, gave a presentation to students before holding a fitness session for those with physical and learning disabilities.
Rik won silver in the 1km time trial in Beijing in 2008 behind team-mate Darren Kenny, and silver at London 2012 in the mixed team sprint. He has now switched to road time trials and aims to win gold in Rio next year.
Rik visited the Chadderton secondary as part of the Sky Sports Living for Sport programme, which uses sport to boost pupils’ confidence and inspire them to be the best they can in all areas of their lives.
