Headteacher Angela McCormick went out on a high note when indie rock band The Visitors played at her retirement.
Angela joined Blackshaw Lane Primary and Nursery School in Royton in 1995, when the band’s lead guitarist Charles Cotton was a pupil. She has been head teacher for 18 years.
Angela oversaw the move of Blackshaw Lane, then Oldham’s oldest primary, into a £3 million new building in 2005.
“I’ll miss the vibrancy of the role — you never know what is going to happen day to day,” she said.
Pupils presented Mrs McCormick with home-made cards and the band - former pupils of Royton schools - played for children and staff.
