FIGHTING fit . . . The Rev Neil Chappell
DETERMINED minister Neil Chappell braved the wrath of lions, tigers and bears to raise money for a cause close to his heart.
The Rev Chappell, who was one of the Chronicle’s original Get Moving to Health volunteers, achieved one of his life’s ambitions when he completed a 10k charity race at Whipsnade Zoo in Bedfordshire earlier this month.
Following months of intense training at the gym and on local roads, Mr Chappell completed the race in just over an hour.
He said: “I was very pleased to complete this challenge and out of 600 runners, I managed to finish a very creditable 500th!”
As well as improving his fitness, Mr Chappell also managed to raise £500 for a Christian Aid project to help migrant workers in the Dominican Republic with education, health and housing.
