POLICE have issued new CCTV footage of the as-yet-unidentified man found dead close to Dovestone reservoir.
The footage show him arriving at Manchester Piccadilly station on December 11. His body was found on the Chew track leading from Dovestone Resevoir boating lake to Indian’s Head the following day.
The man is white, of slim build, had a receding hairline with grey hair to the side and back, a large nose which may have been previously broken and was clean shaven. He wore a heavy brown jacket, blue jumper, white long-sleeved shirt, blue corduroy trousers and black slip-on shoes. There were no apparent injuries, and he had money and three train tickets bought in London.
Detective Inspector Ian Harratt, of Greater Manchester Police, said: “We don’t know if this man is local or if he was visiting, but we are hoping that at this festive time of year someone will realise he is missing and contact police.”
