Tavern tots up £500 for charity
Date published: 23 December 2015
CHRISTMAS will come to poorly and disadvantaged children in Oldham this year thanks to a £500 donation from the George Tavern.
The town centre pub, in George Street, donated the funds to charity Care for Kids, which has been helping children across the north west for the past 10 years.
The charity also helps to fund research into osteosarcoma, a rare type of bone cancer, and provide specialist equipment.
The George Tavern donation has been used to buy gifts for children in hospital, including the Royal Oldham Hospital, and youngsters from less fortunate families.
