Nursery saved in fresh housing bid

PLANS revised . . . proposals for 34 homes and four flats but nursery building set to stay
A POPULAR nursery at risk of being relocated will now stay where it is as new homes are built around it.
Domalo Nurseries has applied to build 34 homes and four apartments on land off Sholver Lane, Sholver currently occupied by Hillside Nursery. The original plan, submitted in 2013, would have turned its building into flats, surrounded by 30 new houses. The new proposal keeps the nursery and adds extra homes.
Development agents Chorlton Planning of Dobcross say the altered plans will improve the site and security for the nursery will be improved, since it is currently surrounded by open land.
The plans can be viewed on Oldham Council’s website and are due to be presented before its planning committee on Wednesday.
