FOUR Special Police officers from Oldham Police and a group from the Ghazali Trust helped to salvage the WElsh holiday chalets
PEOPLE power helped to salvage a children’s holiday site in North Wales, flooded on Boxing day.
The Evening Chronicle reported how heavy rain had damaged two chalets owned by the Oldham Children’s Holiday Homes charity in Caernarfon.
Chairman Janet Cook said: “We had a really good response from all different walks of life. They turned what could have been an awful task into good fun.”
Since its formation in 1974, the project has given holidays to over 3,000 Oldham children who otherwise would not have had the opportunity to go away.
Three of the charity members set off from Oldham with four special police officers from Greater Manchester Police’s Oldham Division and a group of young men from the Ghazali Trust charity.
