Gun raid terror appeal
Date published: 12 January 2016
POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a pair of armed raiders tried to force their way into an Oldham home.
The drama unfolded in Waltham Street, Roundthorn, at around 10.30pm on Friday. The gun-wielding men got in through an unlocked front foor and tried to force their way through an interior door, which was being held shut by two victims.
The thugs fled after failing to force their way through. No-one was injured and nothing stolen.
The first man was wearing a dark jacket with a light-coloured hoodie underneath and dark trousers. His accomplice wore white trousers and trainers.
Detective Sergeant Darren Grafton said: “That the offenders were thought to be carrying a firearm makes this very serious indeed. I would ask anyone who may have witnessed anything, however small, to contact police.”
Call 101 quoting incident number 2395/080116 or Crimestoppers anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
