Carjack driver’s gunpoint terror
Date published: 13 January 2016
A TERRIFIED driver was dragged along the road as he clung to his vehicle during a gunpoint car-jacking yesterday.
The victim had agreed to meet a potential buyer to sell his black Mini Cooper and as both men sat in the car the “buyer” pulled a gun and told the driver to hand over the log book before bundling him out and driving off.
The owner grabbed the car and was dragged along. He was later taken to hospital for treatment to cuts and bruises.
Police are appealing for witnesses. The offender is described as white with a bald head and a short grey beard. He wore a black bubble jacket.
Detective Sergeant Darren Grafton of GMP Oldham Division, said: “We’re keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or seen a black Mini Cooper driving suspiciously in Oldham or north Manchester.”
