A one-off production at Oldham Coliseum will aid Oldham’s Mahdlo youth zone on Thursday.
North West company Little Diamond Theatre will present “September in the Rain”, John Godber’s famous observational comedy of miner Jack and his wife Liz on their annual holiday to Blackpool.
Proceeds from ticket sales will go to the Egerton Street youth zone to support its work for Oldham young people.
Sarah Burrill, founder of Little Diamond Theatre Company, said: “Mahdlo offers an amazing range of activities, and people to talk to. Some of them face massive challenges in everyday life. You can’t fail to empathise and want to help in some small way.”
Mahdlo development manager Claire Crossfield thanked everyone involved with the production for their support and said: “As a charity, we rely heavily on the support and generosity of local businesses and the community.”
Coliseum boss Kevin Shaw said: “We’re always pleased to support other charities in our area that work hard to serve the town. We’re delighted to welcome Little Diamond’s production of ‘September in the Rain’ as a fundraiser for our neighbours at Mahdlo.”
