Party time for centenarian

Lena Grady - 100 today

THERE was a party atmosphere at Shawside nursing home today as resident Lena Grady celebrated her 100th birthday with friends and family.

Oldhamer Lena enjoyed a buffet and entertainment at the Shaw nursing home after reaching the milestone birthday.

Lena was married to Frank Grady for 64 years before his death more than a decade ago. The couple had one son, also Frank and a grandson, Damian.

Son Frank (73) said: “It is great to be able to celebrate with her. She’s a very quiet woman but very easy to get on with.”
