Miracle escape from overturned Corsa

WITNESSES are being sought after a car carrying three men overturned and slid into the path of another car.
The trio, from Shaw, escaped injury following the accident on Well-i-Hole Road, Greenfield on Saturday morning. Police say the driver lost control of the Vauxhall Corsa after hitting an agricultural trailer being pulled by a tractor.
The three men - including a 23-year-old driver - were on their way into Mossley to work.
PC Simon McEvoy said: “The Corsa was travelling towards the Royal George pub and as it went over the hump-backed bridge lost control. It demolished a drystone wall then flipped on to its roof and slid towards an oncoming Kia.
“It’s believed the Corsa might have caught a red-coloured tanker being pulled by a tractor. The tractor headed towards Greenfield after the accident and didn’t stop, but the tractor driver might not have been aware of an impact
“We are asking for any witnesses - particularly the tractor driver - to contact us.”
No injuries were reported.
A spokesman for Oldham Fire Station said: “The people had got out of the cars when we arrived and were checked by ambulance staff. Nobody was hurt, which was very lucky.”
Witnesses are asked to call the police traffic unit on 0161-856 3995.
