£40,000 payback time for jailed drug dealer
Date published: 10 February 2016
A man sentenced to three years in jail for drug offences has now been ordered to pay back £40,000.
Liam Walker (28) of Staley Farm Close, Stalybridge, pleaded guilty last July to possession with intent to supply cocaine.
Yesterday Walker appeared at Manchester Crown Court and was found to have gained £60,000 from his criminality. He was ordered to pay back £8,500 within three months or face an extra five months in custody. He would still owe the remaining amount if that occurred.
Walker was one of four people arrested after raids on homes in Ashton, Dukinfield, Stalybridge and Mossley uncovered drugs worth up to £1.5 million and £100,000 in cash.
