Olivia’s wish to walk
Date published: 16 February 2016
LITTLE Olivia Berry’s dream to walk moved a step closer after a fundraising evening raised over £1,800 for her campaign.
Olivia (5), from Chadderton, was diagnosed with Spastic Diplegic Cerebral Palsy. The tightness in her muscles forces her to use a walking frame, and just sitting can be painful.
Her family has set about raising £25,000 for physiotherapy and a life-changing operation to help the Yew Tree pupil walk unaided.
The event, at North Chadderton Bowling and Social Club, featured a DJ, raffle, auction of signed Latics, Manchester United and City memorabilia, face-painting and a special appearance by Elsa from Disney’s “Frozen”.
The fund currently stands at over £5,700.
