HOUSING plans . . . at the former St Augustine’s
CONSTRUCTION at a new housing development on the former St Augustine’s School site is expected to begin within the month.
Oldham Council granted planning permission for the 54-home scheme off Grange Avenue last week.
Housing and regeneration specialist Galliford Try Partnerships, which operates under the Linden Homes banner, will build three and four bedroom detached and semi-detached homes.
The firm will aim to create 54 job opportunities in work experience, apprenticeships and employment as part of the build
Councillor Dave Hibbert, cabinet member for housing, planning and transport, said: “The granting of this planning application is good news as this plot of land has just been an empty space since St Augustine’s was demolished. These new family homes will help to regenerate the area.”
