MAHDLO is celebrating a £6,000 boost from donations made during Insider Media’s inaugural Insider Residential Property Awards ceremony.
The Oldham Youth Zone on Egerton Street was the “charity partner” of the event, at the Midland Hotel in Manchester. More than 450 property professionals attended and raised £5,925 with a raffle and drinks reception sponsored by Chandos Civil Engineering.
A group of Mahdlo’s senior zone later visited Insider Media’s head office to meet managing director Marlen Roberts to receive the money and learn more about careers in the industry.
Mahdlo’s development manager Claire Crossfield said: “As a charity, we rely heavily on the support and generosity of local businesses and the community. We are thrilled Insider Media chose us. The money will make a lasting difference in the lives of young people.
A night at the theatre brought another windfall for the youth zone.
The charity linked up with Oldham Coliseum to hold a special performance of John Godber’s “September in the Rain” by the Little Diamond Theatre Company.
Producer and actress Sarah Burrill has become a big supporter of Mahdlo and a performance — on a rainy night in Oldham — netted almost £6,000.
