Boy critical after being hit by car

A FOUR-YEAR-OLD boy is in hospital fighting for his life after being knocked down in Chadderton.
The child is in a critical condition after being hit by the car in Middleton Road, at the junction of Burnley Street Chadderton just after 6pm. He was rushed to Manchester Royal infirmary for surgery.
This morning a police spokesperson said he is stable but remains critical.
Joanne Lowis, the boy’s aunt, said afterwards her nephew was in intensive care and might be woken up later today
The accident happened close to Chadderton Wellbeing and Leisure Centre and the driver of the car stopped at the scene. Staff from the leisure centre rushed to help the boy.
Burnley Street was cordoned off by police while they carried out investigations and was fully open again by 10.30pm.
