Alice Morton, 100 today, with granddaughter Ruth Ramsden
GREAT-grandma Alice Morton is celebrating her 100th birthday today with a party and a card from the Queen.
Alice, originally from Withington, is marking the milestone with family and friends at St George’s Care Centre in Moorside.
Alice worked as an usherette when she was younger and married Jack, who died in 1981. Following her husband’s death, Alice moved to Shaw to be nearer their daughter Jacqueline, who died in 1992.
Alice has a grand-daughter, Ruth Ramsden, pictured, and two great grandchildren — Emma (11) and Jack (13) Fernley.
She moved into her current home shortly before Christmas.
