A QUIRKY new night market is being launched at the heart of Oldham town centre to showcase the best of local arts, crafts, and alternative fashions.
The events will be in held in the town’s new bierkeller, in the Tokyo Industries building in Roscoe Street, on the last Friday of every month from 5pm to midnight - with the first tonight.
The first night market will have around 20 stalls offering arts and crafts, jewellery, vintage clothing, handmade and continental gifts, records and musical items, with entertainment from local musicians throughout.
Stalls are provided completely free to local independent businesses and entrance is also free.
The move follows a format already established at Tokyo Industries bars in Huddersfield and Lincoln, where hundreds of shoppers attend
Tokyo Industries MD Aaron Mellor said: “The markets give us chance to get involved with local creative and independent businesses and offer them somewhere a bit different to show their products.
“We want to put on cool alternative events that give our customers an original shopping experience in a bar setting. In return we get to show our venue to people who might not normally visit.”
