Police hunt shirtless thug in club assault

POLICE are hunting a man who attacked a fellow partygoer outside an Oldham nightclub.
The assault took place in Horsedge Street at around 4am on February 7. The 23-year-old victim was leaving Vibes nightclub with a crowd when the offender started a conversation. Though everyting seemed friendly the offender suddenly tried to punch the victim in the face.
Bystanders intervened and attempted to calm the attacker down, but he continued to lash out. The victim stepped forward to speak to the offender, but was punched in the face and fell heavily to the pavement as the offender ran off, leaving his victim unconscious.
The offender is described as black, in his mid-20s with short hair.
Det-Con Andrew Swettenham said: “This was a vicious and unprovoked attack which left this man with several stitches. There was a significant number of people on the street and I hope some of these people will be able to assist us.”
