STUDYING hard: Jake Manton
A Manchester Grammar School student from Oldham is among 27 MGS pupils offered places at Oxford and Cambridge this year.
Jake Manton (17), of Uppermill, could go to Oxford’s prestigious Hertford College to study French and Spanish.
“I’m delighted to have been offered a place,” he said. “Oxford is one of the best universities in the country, if not the world, so it’s a privilege to have been offered a place. I’m really excited about the prospect of going there. But I know there’s a lot of hard work to put in between now and then.”
