Oldham beer festival
OLDHAMERS are encouraged to hop along to the Queen Elizabeth Hall and sample the brews on offer at Oldham Beer Festival.
The event — run by the Rochdale, Oldham and Bury branch of the Campaign for Real Ale — is now in its 28th year and as popular as ever.
The festival, next Friday and Saturday, will have more than 60 of the best real ales, ciders, perries, fruit wines, and imported bottled beers to sample.
Also flying in for its second appearance at the festival is Silver Owl, which was created especially by Greenfield Brewery for the 25th annual event.
Every year the event focuses on bringing the best ales from a particular part of the country, and this year 18 of the beers will be from the Midlands.
Councillor Jean Stretton, leader of Oldham Council, said: “The Oldham Beer Festival is a fixture in many people’s diaries and brings hundreds of people into the town centre, many from miles away.
