Groups join annual global celebration

YOUNG Indian dancers got a head start on International Women’s Day today with a special event to mark the day at the weekend.
The Indian Association Centre in Schofield Street, Oldham, hosted a family day on Saturday to mark the occasion.
In Uppermill, the Methodist Church held an IWD event on Sunday, titled “Women of Palestine living through trauma; Building resilience”.
Organised by the Saddleworth Palestine Women’s Scholarship Fund, the event included female speakers from Palestine, a short film by The Freedom Theatre in Jenin, as well as Palestinian goods available to buy.
