Alice dies at 100

Alice Morton
A GREAT-GRANDMA from Moorside who only recently celebrated her 100th birthday has died.
Alice Morton (nee Longden), who lived at St George’s Care Centre, marked the milestone birthday on February 23. She died on March 3.
Originally from Withington, Alice worked as an usherette when she was younger and married Jack, who died in 1981.
Following her husband’s death, Alice moved to Shaw to be nearer their daughter Jacqueline, who died in 1992. She has a brother and nephews in Canada, as well as granddaughter, Ruth Ramsden, and two great-grandchildren.
Alice moved into St George’s shortly before Christmas following a fall.
Alice’s funeral is at Oldham Crematorium on March 15 (2pm).
