JOINING in: Oldham Mayor, Councillor Ateeque Ur-Rehman and Mayoress, Councillor Yasmin Toor, join Diggle School pupils (back, from left) Jack McQuillan, James Sleight, Carys Winskill, Billy Martin, Imogen Cox, George Redfearn and Sophie Hawes. Front: Poppy Blair
DIGGLE Primary School pupils hit all the right notes when the Mayor of Oldham dropped in to watch their concert.
The youngsters were music to Councillor Ateeque Ur-Rehman’s ears at Uppermill Civic Hall.
When the Diggle primary’s school council met the Mayor recently, they told him all about their love of music — more than 50 of its pupils play brass instruments.
He told them he’d love to watch them perform — and true to his word he accepted their concert invitation.
